The images that are on the home screen are not scaled (the images that change when you select the different plugins). See http://mediaportal.sourceforge.net/gallery/crystalcenter00.jpg (normal) and http://home.ict.nl/~mweterin/mp/home.jpg (scaled). On the first one the spyglass is behind the plugins list, on the second one it is to the left of the plugins list.
