Description
There are 3 scenarios here.
1st Scenario is where Nvidia Video & audio codecs and Nvidia Navigator are used for DVD playback. This results in an error when attempting to play a dvd the error being:-
Unable to play Disc
Did you insert a Disc?
OK
2nd scenario is where Nvidia Video & audio codecs and DVD Navigator are used for DVD playback
This Results in the DVD starting and being able to navigate the root-menu OK, When selecting a submenu the cursor position indicator is missing or will not move so it is difficult to know which menu item has been selected.
However, if the number of key presses is counted then an estimate can be made of where the cursor is therefore navigation works, but the current cursor position is unknown since it is not displayed / does not move.
3rd is where MPEG2Dec Video Decoder, DVD Navigator & MPEG/AC3/DTS/LPCM Audio Decoder are used for DVD playback.
This Results in the DVD starting and being able to navigate the root-menu OK, when a submenu is selected, the navigation works but after the first move of the cursor, the 2nd and following movements are very slow typically 1 -> 1.5 seconds.
All the DVDs used in the above tests work fine in Windows Media Player 10, with the NVIDIA PureVideo decoder selected as the preferred decoder.
h4. Steps to Reproduce
With the option "Don't Autoplay, never ask" selected:-
Scenario 1
go to config.exe > DVD > DVD Codec > set Video codec to NVIDIA Video Decoder, DVD navigator to NVIDIA Navigator & Audio codec to NVIDIA Audio Decoder > select ok to exit Config. > start MediaPortal > My videos > play DVD > error will appear
Scenario 2
go to config.exe > DVD > DVD Codec > set Video codec to NVIDIA Video Decoder, DVD navigator to DVD Navigator & Audio codec to NVIDIA Audio Decoder > select ok to exit Config. > start MediaPortal > My videos > play DVD > navigate to a submenu > Cursor may be visible but will not move or will be invisible... navigation is still possible and works however you do not know what you are selecting.
Scenario 3
go to config.exe > DVD > DVD Codec > set Video codec to MPEG2Dec Video Decoder, DVD navigator to DVD Navigator & Audio codec to MPEG/AC3/DTS/LPCM Audio Decoder > select ok to exit Config. > start MediaPortal > My videos > play DVD > navigate to a submenu > Cursor will move ok first time... but subsequent moves are very slow.
