This patch will resolve the issue in My Pictures plugin if you have some folder which contains only sub folders and the folder.jpg is missing.

Example:

c:\pictures\holiday
c:\pictures\holiday\2014
c:\pictures\holiday\2014\pic1.jpg
c:\pictures\holiday\2014\pic2.jpg
c:\pictures\holiday\2015
c:\pictures\holiday\2015\pic1.jpg
c:\pictures\holiday\2015\pic2.jpg


The old behaviour: MP won't show any thumbs in c:\pictures\holiday because there is no picture in the folder.

The new behaviour: MP will search the sub folders and get one picture from each subfolder.

In my example the folder.jpg for the c:\pictures\holiday will be created from
__c:\pictures\holiday\2014\pic1.jpg
__c:\pictures\holiday\2015\pic1.jpg
