Description
When sorting by date (any module), the displayed date (which I assume the sorting is also based on) is the creation date, when the file has been copied to a location in the file system.
This results in an unexpected behaviour, and seems to be wrong from a user's point of view.
For example: I create an MP3/pic/video on 23.01.2005 (e.g. with a digital camera) but I'm copying it to the HTPC on 10.04.2005. The result is, for MP the file's date is the 10.04.2005, which is from a user's point of view obviously wrong, because I "created" the file on 23.01.2005.
Another example:
Duplicate an existing file in a share/folder. The new copy gets the current date (when it has been copied and created in the filesystem) in MP and does not inherit the date from its' original. (Compare it to windows explorer.)
The more common way (all programs and OSs I know) is to base the view/sorting on the modification date. All other programs act this way and base it on the modification date.
