sometimes the background picture (blue rectangle in overlay in mce skin) is not drawn. Seems it happens when you play a video or a radio, and then start playing a song that has no albumart. so:

start playing a video
go to GUI (press x)
go to my music and play a song that has NO album art! (important)
YOu will see that the musicoverlay has no background.
