Okay, i've been doing a few more tests and find something confusing.
Singleseat
TV-Server PowerScheduler
- wake up for various events = on
- prevent shutdown when grabbing epg = off
- shutdown: stay on
MediaPortal Powerscheduler
- shutdown only when on homescreen = on
- shutdown after: 2 minutes idle
- shutdown: hibernate
Now if you ask me the following should happen.
Case1:
1. TV-Server = running and IDLE
2. MediaPortal = not running
3. MediaPortal is one homescreen for more then 2 minutes
Expected: PC stays on
Result: stays on (works as expected)
Case2:
1. TV-Server = running and IDLE
2. MediaPortal = open
3. MediaPortal is one homescreen for more then 2 minutes
Expected: PC hibernates
Result: nothing happens, which is wrong imo. (confirmed by 2 users in the forums)
If you change the TV-Server Shutdown to "hibernate", then the system hibernates if MP is X minutes IDLE.
This seems to be a "common" usecase on PCs which are not dedicated HTPCs.
While the user is "working" on the PC, he does not want that it gets automatically hibernated by the TV-Server.
This should only be done by MediaPortal.
h4. Additional Information
imo. the TV-Server plugin should get a new option, to select that only the MediaPortal Powerscheduler client can trigger the sleep/hibernate/shutdown
all these usecases would work like a charm then
