I have my main channels in a group called 'Main Channels' and I have a separate channel group for analogue channels which just has one channel, VCR. This channel will never have any EPG data.

If I start MP, and go to EPG, Main Channels shows by default. Screenshot 1, 'normal'.

If I then switch channel groups to 'analogue' I get the VCR channel, but I can also see the rest of the channels from main channels. I cannot navigate to any of them, so this is just cosmetic. Screenshot 2, 'switch to analogue'.

Then I hit the green button to go to home, and then the EPG button to go straight back to the EPG. Now the other channels have disappeared, but so has the EPG info. Screenshot 3, 'home then EPG'.
