Description
On a freshly installed MP the tv plugin throws an exception on start and the radio plugin does not show any groups and channels (exceptions can be found in the logs). The radio plugin's configuration even brings an exception popup. When you first go to the TV Home window and then open the radio plugin (or the radio plugin configuration) everything is ok.
These errors (also) occur on single-seat setups and have nothing to do with a missing TV - Client - Hostname setting. This bug is probably existing for a very long time (far before 1.3 alpha).
h4. Steps to Reproduce
- Uninstall MP and MP Tv Service/TvPlugin, clean the MP data directory but keep tv database with some radio channels
- Install MP (fresh default installation without backups restored)
- Start MP Config tool and go to Plugins-Radio-Configuration -> exception
- Start MP and goto Radio -> no channels shown, exception in logs
- Start MP and goto TV Home -> now everything is ok
h4. Additional Information
On a freshly installed MP the client's gentle.config file contains a "-" for the server's hostname. The tv plugin when starting, the radio plugin configuration and the radio plugin use the client's gentle.config as is to get access to the tv database, which cannot work with hostname "-".
The TV Home screen updates the client's gentle.config to the tv server's gentle.config, so that the hostname / connection string is then set correctly. So if you goto TV Home first then everyting is ok. But if you start with Radio, you get massive errors, because the database connection does not (yet) work.
