It was possible in pre 1.2 beta versions. In order to have a fix for both, Mantis 2813: Slow dialog menus after volume adjust and this one, have to implement proper message loop which is called when dialogs are being rendered. Currently we have some half-baked solution.

1. Open virtual keyboard
2. Type localized characters on PHYSICAL keyboard (in Croatian we have [URL="http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/3383/dijakritickiznakovi.gif"]these[/URL])
3a) In pre 1.2 beta versions you would see those characters in virtual keyboard text box
3b - BUG) In later versions you will most likely see strange characters being typed
